WEST FARGO, ND- January 22, 2013- The new Cass County Museum is ready for its big debut at Bonanzaville with the grand opening scheduled for Tuesday February 5th, 2013. The Cass County Museum has been under construction since fall of 2009, when construction on the Lucien C. Barnes Pavilion began. The new exhibit includes several components from a recent donation to Bonanzaville from the State Historical Society of North Dakota in Bismarck, creating a complete transformation of the former museum space. The museum features a permanent exhibit with information and artifacts on Native Americans of the Red River Valley, bonanza farms and homesteading in North Dakota, and the modernization of North Dakota. The Cass County Museum will be on display year round after February 5th in addition to the rotating exhibit gallery with “The Lincoln Effect: How the Presidency Changed the Man and the Land” that is on display through February.

“With the opening of the Cass County Museum, Bonanzaville has now become a must-see historical attraction throughout all of North Dakota,” said Bonanzaville Executive Director Troy White on the significance of the new museum. The ribbon cutting for the grand opening is at 4:30pm on Tuesday February 5th, 2013 followed by a short reception until 6:00pm with wine and appetizers being served. The general public is invited to attend the event with free admission.

Bonanzaville Raises over $200,000 in Two Months

Tags: , , , , , , ,

WEST FARGO, ND- December 19, 2012- Bonanzaville finishes off 2012 strong when presented with the challenge from an anonymous donor, who agreed to match monetary contributions of $50,000 if they were made to Bonanzaville before December 15th, 2012. With some sizable donations in the last days before the deadline Bonanzaville exceeded their goal and raised over $200,000. This includes the $50,000 matching donation, sponsorships, cash donations, and grants that went toward restricted and general operating funds. This will serve as a strong foundation for their fundraising efforts going into 2013.

“We are amazed at the overwhelming community support. We worked extremely hard to make sure we received this match,” said Bonanzaville executive director Troy White. “ We weren’t leaving anything to chance and counted nothing until it was in hand. In the last few days before the deadline, some very generous contributions came through. About $100,000 is restricted for specific projects so we will still need to raise additional funds for our general operations.”

This has been a banner year for Bonanzaville, with completion of the new Lucien C. Barnes Pavilion, record attendance at special events, increased facility rental sales, and increased admissions and membership.
