Bonanzaville is planning a fun-filled summer

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

This summer, Bonanzaville has several exciting upcoming events. Construction has resumed on the new Lucien C. Barnes Pavilion and is looking to be complete by the end of July 2012. This new addition will allow for the museum to be open year round with traveling exhibits. The new event center above the museum will also serve as a unique venue for a variety of events for corporations, weddings, and other special occasions. The grand opening for this new addition will be announced later this summer. Throughout this May, Bonanzaville has hosted over 5,000 students with the school tour program. On May 23, Bonanzaville has the honor to host the Bonanzaville Veteran’s Memorial Celebration as a special tribute to veterans, the military, and their families. The staff is also beginning to prepare for our annual Pioneer Days on August 18-19 this summer. Last year’s event was a success and this year even more new and exciting events are being coordinated. Additional programming and events will take place regularly on site, and our website at or our Facebook page at will be updated regularly with announcements.

Bonanzaville is operated by the Cass County Historical Society, with a mission to collect, display and interpret artifacts relevant to the history and cultural heritage of the Red River Valley. It is the region’s largest historical attraction with 43 buildings, and more than 400,000 artifacts.
